“King Beads" are wonderful old Venetian wound bicone beads. These rare King Beads date back to the mid 1800s. Still used today in Ghana, one can see these beads in Dipo Initiation ceremonies in Krobo Odumase, Ghana.

Green antique Vaseline beads also make this necklace interesting and unique. Vaseline beads began being made around 1915 in Checkoslovakia and were called Vaseline beads because of their greenish color, cause by uranium salts, which were used as a coloring agent.
