Bodom
2008
Length 16" -18"
The Yellow beads are known as Bodom beads and come from Ghana, West Africa. Theses glass powdered beads are over 100 years old and very rare. The turquoise central bead and the two green square beads are handmade from recycled glass in Krobo, Ghana.

The clear turquoise glass beads and the satin rust beads come from a private collection of beads located in Venice. All are handmade therefore, their sizes and shapes are slightly irregular. The colors cannot be duplicated today as many of the chemicals used to make the colors are no longer used. The turquoise beads may be from Czechoslovakia circa 1920, and the rust satin beads were made in Murano circa 1950.

This necklace has a sterling silver hooked clasp and extender chain with a special bead ending.
